Once in a lifetime something really significant happens, something that shakes up the world and the church. What many find disturbing is the utter unpredictability of the Holy Spirit. He’s moving again. He’s shaking things up.
Time magazine is probably the most influential magazine of the last 50 years. It is therefore noteworthy that it has devoted a cover story to an amazing and unexpected development in the religious world.
It caught me by surprise, maybe you too. I had thought that the influx of Spanish-speaking immigrants from Third World countries, with their rigid Roman Catholic background, would somehow change the basic character of America. IT IS CHANGING AMERICA, but not as some of us predicted. I fully expected Catholic masses flooding into the United States would bring with them dangerous religious ideas that would threaten our Protestant heritage of freedom. Such an expectation was reasonable, but I was wrong.
Spanish-speaking immigrants are turning in droves from the Catholic Church. They are becoming Bible reading Protestant Christians. Time magazine (April 15, 2013) calls this astounding phenomenon, The Latino Reformation. Across this great land of freedom, thousands of new Hispanic churches are springing up like mushrooms after a shower of rain. Don’t doubt it dear friend, the showers of the sweet Holy Spirit are falling.
The original Reformation was born in the study of the Word of God. Martin Luther, John Knox, John Calvin and other heroes discovered the great truth that we are saved by Christ, not by the Church. The hollow pretensions of Rome were revealed as earnest priests, monks, nuns, princes and scholars poured over the words of Scripture.
Today, millions of Spanish-speaking Catholics are starting to read the Bible for themselves. They reason, why should we confess our sins to an earthly priest, when Christ is our heavenly high priest?
As Time reports, they are forsaking the Catholic religion of their fathers, because they have found the sweet, pure, holy, liberating, transforming Gospel of Jesus.
Time says, The Latino Reformation has finally arrived.
Now is the hour of destiny for these beautiful, devout, passionate, loving sons and daughters of the old repressive Spanish empire.
Nothing can stop this mighty movement and we are called to have a part in it. We are commissioned to preach and teach the undiluted truth of the Three Angels’
Messages. (Rev 14: 6-12)
Now is our time to move with the Spirit of God.
No wonder they elected a Hispanic Pope in the hope of stemming the tide, but nothing can thwart this mighty work of our God. His day has come and He is marching on. We want to march with Him.
We are right now calling a Hispanic evangelist from Australia to translate our new
evangelistic series into Spanish. We believe that this Holy Spirit anointed series is ideal for our Spanish friends because it fearlessly but lovingly presents the soul-stirring truths of God’s last warning message. Yes, it uplifts Jesus as our Savior, but it also proclaims certain distinctive teachings that must be heard by the wondering, restless masses.
THIS IS NOT A WEAK, WATERED DOWN, POLITICALLY CORRECT EDITION. It comes hot from the heart of God.

Yes, we must raise a large sum of money, but we believe that God will reveal his mighty arm. “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
