For the first time in the history of India, television messages advertising Christian meetings are running around the clock. As you read this letter, 500,000 handbills are being distributed around the city of… (Please watch for our upcoming news release that will identify the city.) Messages about the campaign are also, as I write, being heralded by radio, billboards, posters, and newspapers.
We will be, by God’s grace, conducting the meetings in an outdoor stadium with room for 200,000 souls. Now is the time to pray that the place will be packed by earnest seekers for truth.
Please pray that the God who protected Daniel in the lion’s den will protect us as we go forth to proclaim the Three Angels’ Messages. We have been warned that our lives may be in danger.
Please pray that the budget to save souls and build churches will be raised. At this stage it appears that the large city worship center will cost around $500,000.00, much more that we had previously anticipated. The village churches will still cost upwards of $11,000.00 each. Right now, we are looking at a revised budget of approximately $1.25 million, and the good news is that, with seven days to go, we have already raised $800,000.00. Will the rest come? Yes, indeed, for God is faithful.
I have not even begun to think what will happen if 200,000 people come every night and each qualify for a Bible. We have budgeted for 25,000 Bibles at $3.00 each, a total sum of $75,000.00. Two hundred thousand Bibles would be $600,000.00! I thank God that He is in charge of the work, not me. We will need to leave it all in His big hands.
I am asking you, dear faith partner, to pray with me about these great challenges. Please ask the Lord of the Harvest to help each of us to do something special for Him at this time of unprecedented opportunities.
Here are several great Bible Truths that will sustain us as we join hands and hearts to proclaim Christ to the people of India:
- God has promised to supply all our needs. (Philippians 4:19)
- It is God, not man, who has commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:19,20)
- The Lord has assured us that nothing can harm us until our work on earth is done. (Luke 10:19)
- Christ died for all, and God would have everyone saved. (John 3:16)
There is, dear friend, a thought that keeps ringing in my mind, “HOW CAN WE ALLOW THESE MILLIONS IN DARKNESS TO PERISH WITHOUT HOPE?”
