Dear Friend,
This is an alert. Things are happening so quickly that I believe we must now set our houses in order. We need to prepare now because massive changes are about to take place.
I am just an old-fashioned Christian who believes the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy. We have been warned that society would be turned upside down, anarchy would rule, and "the final movements will be rapid ones."
The U.S. Government now owes $62,000,000,000,000.00. That's 62 trillion dollars, and the end of this gross irresponsibility is nowhere in sight. Our leaders seem paralyzed, and to this old preacher's way of seeing things, they are more interested in keeping their safe jobs and benefits than the welfare of their country. We know what ought to be done but no one seems to have the courage and will to act. Like the old Roman Empire, we are hurtling down a road to destruction. (See Daniel 12:1-4).
There are other signs that make thinking people wonder. Did you hear about the thousands of birds that dropped dead out of the sky? Or the dead fish that washed up on the beaches? What about the awful storms that are roaring across the Heartland and the terrifying earthquakes in New Zealand and Japan? Have you heard about the missing Russian nukes that even now may be passing into the hands of terrorists?
I know I am becoming an isolated voice on this one and I almost hesitate to mention it. What about the growing support for gay marriage? I remember the time when we wouldn't even talk about "men with men" and "women with women." It reminded us old Bible believers of the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, and we trembled at the thought of these unnatural acts. Now it's all out in the open and our cities witness great parades that glorify the sin that caused the destruction of those ancient Dead Sea cities. The other night Anderson Cooper did a special CNN program that justified and glorified the homosexual lifestyle. Now, don't get me wrong. God loves homosexuals and Jesus died for them, but make no doubt about it, the Bible teaches that marriage is between a MAN and a WOMAN. Even the President has said he is rethinking his position on Gay marriage. Expect an announcement.
I believe that judgment is coming. I believe the time is coming, as the prophet said, when we will need to get out of the cities that have become almost totally corrupt. I believe that God will soon destroy them. We need to change our old way of thinking and prepare for the overthrow of society as we now know it.
What should we do?
- GET OUT OF DEBT. Don’t be a slave to the Wall Street tyrants who are imposing crippling interest rates on those who are struggling to stay afloat. Get rid of your credit cards. Simplify, simplify, simplify. Pay off your bills, and be a slave to no man.
- LIVE ACCORDING TO YOUR MEANS. Don’t live a lifestyle that you can’t afford. Happiness is not dependent on getting the latest gadget. What advantage or benefit is possibly found in texting every spare moment, even when driving? (I see people even doing it Sabbath mornings in the House of the Lord.)
- PREPARE FOR RIOTS IN OUR CITIES. Better still, leave now while you can. When the economy collapses, people will riot. No one is going to take another Depression lying down. When the few on Wall Street pay themselves billions while inflicting suffering upon millions on Main Street, there will be revolution. There will be tanks in the streets and helicopters in the skies. The world will see a time of trouble worse than that which came upon Jerusalem of old in 70 A.D. (E.G. White)
- DON’T RISK YOUR SAVINGS IN SPECULATIVE VENTURES. I personally would not risk a dime on Wall Street (it’s about as safe as Las Vegas). I know of a church organization that has invested $60 million in a risky proposition and now stands to lose it all. Don’t try to get rich in “get-rich-quick” schemes. A man came to me a few years ago and asked my advise about investing in a certain scheme. I told him “Don’t do it!” He replied, “I know what you say is true, but I FEEL that it will bring in a ton of money and then I will give you a big donation.” He lost everything.
- GET YOUR SPIRITUAL PRIORITIES STRAIGHT. I am a pastor and it seems to this pilgrim that most of us are drunken with the cares of this life. Just like it was in the days of Noah. We need to “seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.” (Matthew 6:33) Many of us know more about the football scores than the Sermon on the Mount.
- DECIDE TO LIVE FOR CHRIST AND THE PROCLAMATION OF HIS LAST WARNING MESSAGE. This means that you and I will invest more of our time and money in saving souls before the Flood comes and takes them all away.
I am planning, with God’s help, to take my own medicine. I want to live what I preach. I am planning to get out of debt.
I am planning by God’s grace to conduct this September our biggest outreach of souls for God’s Kingdom. We are going to the South Pacific for a great outdoor crusade for Christ and truth. This is how we ought to be spending our dollars and the dollars you send. I believe God will bless us and protect us as we preach the Good News of redeeming grace to a perishing world.
Please join me as together we change our priorities, and do what God has told us to do. It is time to be about the Master's business.
Now is the time for us to invest in Heaven if we are planning on going there. Now is the time for FAITH to take over our lives.
