prays to the God of good ears
Mike came to hear John Carter in the Tarrant County Convention Center, Downtown Fort Worth, in the great state of Texas. He came messed up on drugs. Here is an excerpt from his recent letter:
“Anyway, life is much better nowadays, been clean since 1991 and never looked back. John’s Fort Worth campaign long, long ago was so fascinating it never left me and I LOVE preachers who provide evidence. Unlike popular opinion, “Faith” is not “Void of evidence,” it gets stronger because of evidence. Prophecy, archaeology, etc., etc., are evidences that create strong faith. Without evidence, “Faith” would be very shallow. Who’s going to believe anything without a shred of evidence? I wouldn’t …
… John’s campaign was around 1985, I think. I was a drug addict when I went, my mom and I went, and I did continue to get in trouble. Drug addictions are super hard to end, but it did end, and John helped me in a large way. Thank you Lord for helping me out of that disaster.”
From his experience, he wrote about the loving God who heard his prayers:
Very Good Ears
By Mike Burkleo (Edited version)
Are you discouraged, are you dismayed
Do you feel no one heard you when you prayed
Remove your doubt, and cast off your fears
For the Lord, I tell you, has very good ears.
Maybe our prayers must travel too far
It is a long way to that glistening star
Yet we know God can see us, from Heaven He peers
Let us also believe He has very good ears.
Do you feel the right prayer an impossible task
God knows what we need before we ask
If you’ve prayed only once, or been praying for years
Makes no difference to very good ears.
Have faith, don’t doubt, and let us all say
I believe that God hears me when I pray
Now mingle your prayers with praises and cheers
For the Lord, I tell you, has very good ears
Yes, Jesus our savior, has excellent ears.
